DIY: Homemade Marshmallows

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! This morning, I was eating my breakfast while watching one of my favorite channels, the Food Network. Ina Garten was making these amazing treats from scratch so I was inspired to write this post! Who doesn't love marshmallows? They taste so good with rice krispies.

Here's how you make America's favorite candy:

  • Ingredients:
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting

Directions:
1. Generously coat a 9x13 dish with cooking spray.

2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, salt and water. Heat to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Remove from heat and beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in vanilla. Pour into prepared pan.

3. Chill in refrigerator 8 hours or overnight. To cut, loosen edges with a knife. Dust surface with confectioners' sugar, and turn out onto a waxed paper lined surface. Dust with confectioners' sugar again and cut with a knife.

Ask Tiffani: How to Deal With Anger

Hey ladies,
One of my best friends was stressed out last night because she had a forty- question lab to do over the weekend which was due today. Sounds terrible, right? She was really stressed out and angry that it took her a couple of hours to complete the lab. She asked me: how do you deal with anger? That's why I was inspired to post about this today.

I have a family friend who has depression. He was a great student in school and he was happy, but everything changed for him when a group of boys cyberbullied him and he coped with his depression by staying home and playing video games. Now his depression's getting better. Yay!

When I'm angry, I don't like to think about what caused my anger. Instead, I like to sit in a comfy place in my room like a chair or my bed and read a book. Reading makes me feel calm and peaceful. If you think about your anger too much, you could become more upset and you don't want to do that. I also heard listening to your favorite songs can help relieve stress and anger. I do that when I'm upset.

How do you deal with anger?

P.S. Do you have any questions for me? If so, put them in the comments section below. I love hearing from my readers! When I see a question that interests me, I'll answer it!

Beauty Buzz: Covergirl's NatureLuxe Gloss Balm Review

Hi girls,
I'm so sorry for not posting for three days. I have been hung up with work and I was really stressed.

I just brought Covergirl's NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Tulip (pink) from CVS several days ago.I love it! It's basically a lipgloss and a lipbalm in one. The best of both worlds! It keeps your
lips soft and smooth for a long time and if you have lips that are chapped a lot like me, I
recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good lipbalm. It also adds color to your lips and it has SPF 15 in it so if you're in the warmth/coldness and want color, shine and
smoothness on your lips, this is the one for you!
